Adidas Supernova Glide Boost ATR running shoes
69$Our first shoes review is about a running shoe produced by a respected company in the sports field, namely ADIDAS .
Adidas Supernova Glide Boost ATR running shoes tested by us is the SS 2016 edition.
These shoes are somewhere in the middle or the top of the hierarchy in Adidas running shoes, and has the Boost™ Midsole that Adidas claims to be a technology that offers the benefits of soft cushioning for optimal feel and responsive energy return to enhance running performance .
Adidas Supernova Glide Boost ATR features a decoupled, strategic outsole that Adidas claims to be better shock absorption during running as they encourage you to run through the natural gait cycle .
Upper the shoe has a breathable mesh, a Climaheat™ insulation that an is internally added to the lining which uses hollow-core fibers.
We started to test the Supernova Glide Boost ATR in the fall, with runs through the forest, hills and valleys, forest roads and land mixed with asphalt .
The temperature was around 15-20 degrees Celsius so our feet did not feel very comfortable because of the Climaheat (in the cold conditions is much better – read more) .
So if you need a running shoe for hot days, buy another shoe.
Fortunately in the temperatures bellow 5 degrees Celsius, the Supernova Glide Boost ATR behaves perfectly, and for the cold days you can get a pair of thicker socks and you will not freeze (teste until -20 degrees Celsius) .
In the morning dew or snow we did not have any water in the shoes ! In the snow the shoe behaves very well if you have a clear path or a level ground .
The foot sits beautifully in the shoe and the size is true . I bought a size a little larger, for longer distances comfort is better. The foot is well protected even in a rocky environment and the sole acts very nice in almost all terrain .
The shoe protects you if you step a little crooked on rough terrain, but on a steep valley I feel the leg slips a bit in front and on the right foot I felt something strange in the outside part of the sole, but not every time, especially when climbing hills .
Sometimes the shoelaces come untied, maybe 5 percent of the time, but overall the normal shoelaces system is good .
The sole of the shoe is very good, it has nice cushioning and what we liked most was the rubber (made by Continental) that acts like a suction cup sticks to the ground .
Unfortunately in the slippery or muddy terrain the shoe is losing traction because of the sole that does not have pronounced hollows and spikes .
We test the shoe at a trail running marathon and the shoe behaved perfectly .
Until now after a few hundreds of kilometers the did no shows any signs of aging !!! The only thing that appeared is a yellowing in the middle sole. We will keep you up do date .
If you need an all day running shoe or even a competition shoe for a mixed terrain, buy not for mud, slippery or rainy days, this is the right shoe for you .
At $130 at Amazon.com or £105 at sportsshoes.com the price is ok and if you hunt for a sale you may get it at half the price that is a bargain !
