For road and forest trails my friend bought a pair of Brooks Ghost Running Shoes. At around $ 80 you can buy it from Amazon or from other store, version 8 is less expensive .
The size is true, it is good also for wide feet, has a weight around 300 grams, and the materials are nice .
The upper of the Ghost it provides breathability in hot days and is sock-like fit (BioMoGo foam). The upper also features synthetic overlays which are used for a snug and secure fit. It does not have a full protective front, like trails shoes, but is enough for road and light trails .
Brooks Ghost has a BioMoGo midsole which is cushioning enough. BioMoGo DNA midsole includes an organic, non-toxic additive that biodegrades the midsole 50 times faster than traditional EVA when it comes into contact with anaerobic landfill microbes .
The outsole of Brooks Ghost is nice and has a abrasion resistant rubber and traction . From what I’ve seen is more resistant than older Asics outsole .
After over 100 miles the shoes are in great shape so it is worth buy it. No so good like
