I bought the Hoka One One Challenger ATR 3 Trail Running Shoes (predecessor of new ATR 4), successor of hallenger ATR 2, which I have for some time and started to fall apart (read review), at the lowest price untill now ($70), hoping to run with it at least as in version 2 (at least 500 km) and without the problems I had with the sole .

For some time I noticed that it is a good bargain to buy not the latest version of the shoe, because is more expensive (of course if you have the money probably is not the case), and because of the half price of the latest version is nice to run 500 km thought the woods with smallest amount of money.

The construction of Hoka Challenger ATR 3 Trail Running Shoes seems better than in version 2, the “lightweight 3D Puff Print Frame reinforces the upper” probably it will be more durable than version 2 that starting to fall apart after 300 km (now over 550 k and still ok) .

Hoka Challenger ATR 3 has the same soft EVA platform midsole for lightweight better cushioning (than version 2) and comfort, oversized but still conmfortable and ground feeling .

The outsole of the Challenger ATR 3 is made from rubber, seems to be the same than version 2, has good grip and offers a smooth transition from heel to toe, 4mm lugs (I hope the outsole will not start to fall apart like in version 2 wich I need it to glue for a few times).

Other the Hoka One One Challenger ATR 3 Running Shoes has very good cushioning, good on mud, dry and all kind of terrain and it is a good choice for those who are looking for a trail runner who wishes extra cushioning !
