Out of Office Assistant Outlook – Send automatic replies – create rules when you are out of office

When you are leaving in a holiday or you are out of office for a few days you may want that people that sends you email to receive a notification that you are not able to read their email.

This can be done using Out of Office Assistant from Microsoft Outlook.

To do so you need to follow the steps bellow for Outlook 2007, 2010, 2013 and 2016 :

In Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 :

1. Click on the Tools menu and then click on Out of Office Assistant

2. In the Out of Office Assistant popup window you need to select the Send Out of Office auto-replies check box

3. You can a set time and date range to send automatic replies by selecting the Only send during this time range and set the Start time and End time

4. In the Inside my organization tab of Out of Office Assistant window, create a message that you want to send to your organization, and in the Outside my organization tab, create a message that you want to send outside your organization.

5. Click OK.

You may also select the “Rules…” button for example to create a rule that send your received emails to other people from you organization .

In Microsoft Office Outlook 2010, 2013 and 2016 :

1. Click the File tab, and then click the Info tab in the menu.

2. Click Automatic Replies (Out of Office).

3. In the Automatic Replies popup window you need to select the Send Out of Office auto-replies check box

4. You can a set time and date range to send automatic replies by selecting the Only send during this time range and set the Start time and End time

5. In the Inside my organization tab of Out of Office Assistant window, create a message that you want to send to your organization, and in the Outside my organization tab, create a message that you want to send outside your organization.

6. Click OK.

You may also select the “Rules…” button for example to create a rule that send your received emails to other people from you organization .

That is it, now Outlook sends automatic replies when you are out of office !
