If your Microsoft Surface tablet has entered in a deep sleep or you simply cannot wake up the tablet any more and it does not respond to any button you can try this combination before you sent it to warranty or repair service.
The combination of power button + sound up or power + sound down will produce results.
For Microsoft Surface Pro 4 tablet power + sound down has wake up my tablet after months of no usage .
